QuarkSys Consulting Inc is a software engineering and IT consulting firm incorporated in Ontario in 2002, based in Kanata, Ontario, Canada. We rebuild legacy enterprise systems and build new ones, cloud-native SaaS or otherwise, with a practice built around AI-assisted delivery that stays auditable.

Why size is the wrong measure

Large integrators sell capacity: many people, billed by the hour. That model is paid more when the work takes longer, and it puts the people who understand the legacy system furthest from the people writing the new one.

We sell delivery. Our capacity comes from tooling that reads code deterministically and from a gated lifecycle that makes each application cheaper than the last. Our judgement comes from twenty-five years inside programs where failure was not an option. The result is a firm small enough that the architect who reads your code is the one accountable for the system that replaces it, and a price that is fixed because the risk is ours to manage.

Principal architect
Twenty-six years in enterprise systems. Principal Architect at the RCMP from 2011 to 2018 on two major programs, $100M+ combined, including the CJIM program, which received the 2016 Federal CIO Council Excellence in IT Solution Award. Senior Solution Architect at the Bank of Canada since 2019 on the modernization of mission-critical payment and settlement systems. Led the fine-tuning and deployment of a 120-billion-parameter open-weight model for a medical-device regulatory compliance solution.

The RCMP and Bank of Canada credentials are the principal's personal experience, not corporate past performance of QuarkSys. We draw that line ourselves rather than let a reader discover it.
